With the financial year ending soon, now's a good time to think about a tax deductible donation to Yass Area Network of Landcare Groups (YAN).
In 2026, YAN is celebrating 30 years of Landcare in the Yass Valley and supports five local Landcare groups across Bowning-Bookham, Murrumbateman, Sutton, Yass and Friends of Yass Gorge.
YAN also supports three community Landcare nurseries in Bowning Bookham, Yass and Murrumbateman, which work together to grow thousands of native tubestock each year for local revegetation projects, farms, gardens and habitat restoration.
This planting season 13,000 plants were grown and distributed by YAN nurseries. This includes gifting plants to community members attending the Landcare stall at the Yass Show, as well as donations to community projects at Yass Highschool, Montessori Preschool, Sutton Reserve, Binalong Primary and Yass Rotary Lookout. Plants also get given to local landholders in our Yass Paddock Tree Program and Habitat Hops Project.
Each YAN nursery is volunteer-run, with dedicated community members contributing their time, knowledge and care to produce high-quality plants suited to local conditions. A strong focus across all three nurseries is growing climate ready species and plants that are resilient and suited to the changing conditions in our region.
Your donation would go towards supporting these programs and our nurseries across the YAN region. Any donation, big or small, helps us keep offering these opportunities for our local landholders and communities to get involved in.
